Bushfires in Marysville - February 2009 As updated February 16th 2009
Our Manical Mechanicals toy shop in Marysville Victoria Australia was destroyed by bushfire February 7th 2009. In fact basically the whole town of Marysville has been destroyed. Up to 100 people have possibly perished in Marysville alone - this is a small town of 500 people !! See news information on www.abc.net.au/news The shop and all of the current stock of 10000 Matchbox Collectibles models were completely destroyed. There is nothing even to be salvaged. Therefore it appears that we are out of the Matchbox Collectibles business !! Given that these Matchbox models have been out of production for some years then the stock is not replaceable. Ebay users awaiting shipments - in the next few days we will reconcile all outstanding orders. Where Ebay members have paid but we cannot ship then of course we will issue a full refund of any monies paid. We have switched on the Vacation Settings on our Ebay Store because there is no point in processing any further orders for Matchbox stock. You can still email on manicalmechanicals@bigpond.com for questions etc Marg and I are ok - in fact we were in Melbourne when the fires occurred. We are also 'reasonably' insured. Therefore apart from the trauma of it all we will be able to rebuild our lives over time. However many of our friends in the community have lost everything and some are not insured. There is also the loss of life with many of our Community losing family members and friends. We will issue updates to this notice as soon as possible.
