FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Australia Day in MarysvilleManical Mechanicals participates in Australia Day street paradeManical Mechanicals has entered for the second year in the Australia Day street parade in Marysville Victoria. This year the entrant was a 'Melbourne Tram' - actually a VW Kombi heavily modified to look like a caricature of that icon of Melbourne transport. Australia Day in Marysville is celebrated with a sense of participation and flourish. Just about all of the residents turn out to either go in or watch the parade, along with 100's of tourists. This year was no exception with a number of vehicle participants, flag bearers, school children, bands etc. At the end of the parade the community listed to a speech by the Special Australia Day ambassador for our area. There was also an Australian Naturalisation Ceremony for 3 of our new Australians for them to confirm their membership of the Australian Nation. After the formal ceremony there was a jazz band and other fun activities for the remainder of the day. BBQ's and picnics were the order of the day with a perfect summer weather (if hot) of 37 degrees C (about 100 degrees F).
